I am a PhD Candidate (on intermission) at the University of Kent's School of Politics. My project is supervised by Dr. Nadine Ansorg.
My current academic research at the University of Kent tackles the pathways through which tribal networks transform during wartime Iraq when they mobilise against threats.
I use a comparative and within-case research design with multiple case studies from Central Iraq for my project. I rely on qualitative interviews and walking tours as data-collection methods.
I conducted field research in Salahalddin province in Central Iraq and in the KRI's IDP camps in the summer of 2023 (see selected pictures here).
My teaching at Kent relied on ingraining my experience as a conflict research practitioner with the academic content of the modules to produce the best learning outcomes for my students.
I convened seminar classes for the following modules for three academic years:
In Spring 2024: 'POLI3003: War, Violence, and Peace'.
In Spring 2023 and 2022: 'POLI3250: Introduction to Conflict Analysis and Resolution'.
In Winter 2022/23 and 2023/24: 'POLI3350: Making Sense of Politics'.
